2009 Social Media Summit Contest
Social Media no doubt has taken a foot hold in our society. Take it or leave it, even if people don’t know exactly what its called, they are facebooking, want to Twitter and love for people to check out their flickr stream.
Heck even Oprah has taken to Twitter and helped it go mainstream.
I ran into a friend on Facebook yesterday that said she had only been on FB for 3 days but she was “facebooking” like a champ with photos, connections to friends and reaching out to me whom she hadn’t talked to in 18 years. She’s a natural I suppose. 🙂
My Real World Social Media Experience
However let me just tell you how social media has shown up off line in my world.
I was in a local car dealership about 2 weeks ago for my day business and over heard the general manager and the IT guy speaking about how Facebook & Twitter were the future of connecting to more customers. Naturally I chimed into the conversation.
It was almost like having a social media filter notify me of a twitter conversation to join but there wasn’t anyone else talking so I just naturally overhead the conversation in the room. 🙂
Anyway by the time it was said and done I was having a conversation about how their local businesses could connect with more customers and create more profits. Needless to say the one gentleman seemed excited about the new found social media friend. (That’s me!)
I could go on and on about how off line businesses, solopreneurs & individuals have come across my path and are desiring to learn how to use social media & blogging to further their brands reach into their target markets.
They are looking to me to help assist them into this new world and I’ve already taken on several clients.
If you even know what social media is you’re ahead of 99% of the curve.
Let’s just say I know enough to be dangerous however I want to be able to deliver unbelievable value & results to my clients and the event I’m about to share with you is the key to doing just that.
If you’re even remotely interested in the same idea then read closely.
2009 Social Media Summit And Me
I’m writing this post because I’m desiring to further my Social Media Education and I want to learn from some of the best. In transparent fashion the reason I’m doing this post is that I also get an opportunity to go for free.
You can too, just go to Chris Garret’s blog and read the Social Media Summit contest rules.
The 2009 Social Media Summit beginning May 26th.
It’s an online event taking place over several weeks that will feature the likes of Gary Vanyerchuk, Darren Rowse of Problogger fame, Mari Smith, Brian Clark of Copyblogger, Chris Garret and a host of other well known social media experts.
This is going to be an amazing event and quite simply it’s going to take anyone who attends to another level of insight and skills in the world of social media & online attraction.
I’ll look forward to comparing notes about the event with you soon!
P.S. If I made any social media etiquette errors in the post, those are all the more reason I need to go to this event lol.
