This is my 2nd book review and I’ve decided to feature How To Be Rich and Happy by John P. Strelecky & Tim Brownson
“To be Rich and Happy you have to be able to look beyond the physical money, to what it is you want to do during your time on this planet.”
I’ve gotten to chit chat with Tim Brownson just a bit on Twitter and via email now and I have to say he’s not your everyday life coach. He was the first person to use the “F” word in my comments. I feel special, I think. 😉
If I had to compare him to something, lets take the world of cola’s, he’s like Jolt Cola. Not nearly as sexy as Coca-Cola but damn he get’s the job done, and then some.
Make no bones about it though, Tim has more alphabets and accreditation after his name than I have room for in this post. He’s a highly respected and sought after Professional Life Coach and NLP Master Practitioner with literally hundreds of success stories and clients all over the world to boot.
Oh and he lives in Orlando, about an hour and 20 minutes away from me which is even cooler, in a non stalker kind of way.
I haven’t met or connected with co-author John Strelecky but he has been honored alongside Oprah Winfrey, Wayne Dyer, Tony Robbins, and Lance Armstrong as one of the 100 Most Influential Thought Leaders in the field of leadership and personal development.
He’s had several books and CD’s on personal development and wealth creation translated into 19 different languages.
Um, yeah. I think he’s qualified to co-author such a book.
Oh, and he wears a really cool hat too.
How To Be Rich and Happy-The Book
Personally I’ve read hundreds of self help, personal development and wealth creation books. This one goes to the top of my list based on it’s blend of very real stories, actionable steps and it’s humor it brings to the table. That’s the formula that makes this a total kick ass read.
The book is fun and at the same time it’s seriously action packed with wisdom and actionable steps. No fluff or woo woo talk.
I think we’re all way past woo woo.
Quite frankly after all the books I’ve read in 20 years, I’d have to say just read this one. Everything you need is in How to Be Rich and Happy.
I’m pretty damn picky about what I stand behind (cause there is lots of junk out there) Oh and I’m not doing this for a pat on the back or a commission either. The book fucking rocks. If you’re looking for clarity in your life, the steps to obtain it are found in this book.
How to Be Rich and Happy doesn’t take a one size fits all approach. It takes into consideration that all of us are individuals, with individual backgrounds and individual needs.
I love this fact and how anyone can gain perspective, value and positive outcomes from this book if they apply what it shares.
People like to be entertained and I would classify this book as enter”train”ment.
“People who are Rich and Happy get that way by knowing what it means to them. They know it in their mind before they become it in their life.“
Practical, Fun and Easy to Read
I seriously laughed out loud a few times reading this thing. I’ve never heard someone relate steps to finding your happiness to preparing and eating a frozen pizza. These guys pull it off brilliantly.
“…Because before you can be Rich and Happy, you have to define what Rich and Happy means for you. You have to know your “Whatever.”
The book is insightful, resourceful and intelligent even when referencing furry underwear.
Seriously, I’m not kidding.
Throughout the book Tim and John provide you documents you can complete in order to get clarity on your values and your anti-values. Not sure what anti-values are? Yep, another reason you may want to read this is to know yourself. You and I are operating from values and anti-values every day.
If we don’t know what those are, we’re bouncing around like ping pong balls in a wind tunnel.
“The final analysis of one’s life, the amount of contribution someone makes is really how they evaluate their existence.“
There comes a time when you finally have to put your foot down and say ok, I’m ready to stand in my light.
I’m ready to come out of the dark where I’m hiding my talents, my gifts and my contribution to the world.
If you want clear steps to make that happen, buy this book.
Maybe you’re quite fine with where you’re at. That’s cool. I still believe How to Be Rich and Happy book could be a good fit for you.
I believe How to Be Rich and Happy is a great fit for anyone who wants to contribute more in their life to others or a cause, more purposely.
However if you’re not purposely creating your life right now, then this book can be a huge corner stone of your transformation.
- It’s real
- It’s fun
- It has actionable steps
- It’s entertaining
- It’s inspirational
- It empowers you
This book could be the catalyst for you to be able to have a positive impact on those around you and those that you have yet to meet.
The Give Away
Tim and John have this big hairy audacious goal of giving away over 1 million copies of How to Be Rich and Happy.
They sure do.
They are so serious about this that 90% of the proceeds from each book sold will be going to this goal and they have come up with a core group of people that they most want to get the manual into the hands of.
- Young people between 15-20 years old
- Single parents on income support
- Unemployed people
- Homeless people
